Today's vehicles are more maintenance free than their predecessors. Although the
manufacturers state long intervals between services, it is always best to get into a
routine when it comes to general maintenance.
- Always change your oil & filter every 2500-3000 miles regardless of the
Manufacturers recommendations. Try to use original equipment filters as they help to preserve your
warranty. Always keep accurate records in case of a problem.
- Platinum tipped spark plugs are standard equipment on most of today's vehicles. They do
have an extended life, but don't push your luck. As a rule of thumb, it is recommended
that they be changed at 50,000 miles max.
- Serpentine fan belts are standard on today's vehicles. This is a one piece belt that
runs all of your engines accessories. It should be inspected for cracks & wear
starting at 15,000 miles and replaced by 30,000 miles.
