Fact: Frequent washing is the single best thing you can do to maintain your vehicle's finish and preserve its showroom shape.

Fact: Careless washing can leave the paint in worse condition than when you started.

Don't wait to do a full wash if you see bird droppings, dead bugs or other obvious contaminants building up on the paint surface. Bird droppings, in particular, have a high acidity that, if left on the paint for any length of time, can and will eat into the clear coat.

Do rinse off your vehicle after a rainy period due to the effects of acid rain.

Do rinse off the vehicle before washing to help cool off the sheet metal, remove loose dirt or leaves that could scratch the finish. Rinse off all caked on mud before washing.

Don't use household detergents to wash your car. These cleaners can strip off the protective wax coating & possibly dull the finish. Use a car wash formula that has a milder soap that doesn't affect the protective coating.

Do wash the vehicle in sections. Wash and rinse one area at a time. This will prevent sudsy water from drying on the paint .

Don't use any abrasive materials. Use a large sponge or even better a lambs wool glove to wash the finish. Always use lots of suds to help keep the paint surface well lubricated.

Do rinse out the sponge or mitt often.

Don't use a sponge or mitt that has been dropped onto the ground. It could pick up particles of dirt that, although you can't see them, could scratch the paint.

Do use a bug and tar remover for those stubborn spots that the car wash won't remove.

Don't use the sponge or mitt to clean the wheels and tires. Brake dust today contains small metal fibers the will damage your cars finish. Use a wheel cleaner but be careful not to get it on the finish as it may also damage the finish.

Do a final rinse. But please Don't let the water droplets dry in the sun on the paint. This will cause Water Stains that are difficult to get out.

Do use a good quality chamois, terry towel or synthetic chamois. Use of one of these will help prevent the water stains.
